SECURITY AND PRIVACY 

Hic Haec Hoc complies with all aspects of the Data Protection Act of 1984 and the new act of 1998 and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), that came into effect 25 May 2018. In order to comply with GDPR consent requirements, we legally need to inform you of what data we hold and how we will use it.  
 

When you place an order, Hic Haec Hoc will collect and store any personal data that you may volunteer whilst using our services. The type of information that we will collect will include: your title, name, address, e-mail address, order details and payment details (plus any alternative delivery address options you may supply us with).

 

During the payment process, transaction details are forwarded to our secure payment partners in order to process payment ie your debit or credit card payment details are processed by either Paypal, HSBC or Worldpay. Please note that if you pay by telephone, Hic Haec Hoc will in-put your card details directly into payment partners systems during the telephone conversation.  

 

Your delivery details will be stored whilst you remain a customer of Hic Haec Hoc and for further period of 6 years after that date, in accordance with HMRC recommendation for storage of historical trading information.

 

Hic Haec Hoc uses Royal Mail or Parcel Force as their preferred parcel delivery services, however, ocassionally we do use other delivery services and should that be the case they will be provided with your name, address and email or telephone number so that they can fulfil the order.  Hic Haec Hoc will only work with established and reputable delivery companies.

In addition (subject to your agreement) Hic Haec Hoc would like to be able to ocassionally provide you with marketing information on new products, events and special offers/sales etc. You can consent to this by signing up to join the mailing list (button on the footer bar or under the CONTACT button). You can opt out of this at any time, either by emailing us (via the CONTACT page or info@hichaechoc.co.uk). 

 

Other than those outlined above, your data will only be used by Hic Haec Hoc and will not be passed on  to any other third party. You can also request to see a copy of the data we hold on you.

Individuals registering their details online may do so on the understanding that they are aware of the intended purpose for the collection of data. All information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations.

Our website may from time to time contain links to other websites or services (typically trade associatiions or event pages where Hic Haec Hoc will have a stall /stand selling goods). You should note that we are in no way responsible for the content or privacy policies these websites / or services they may have in place.  Hic Haec Hoc strongly advises that you use caution and refer to these websites own privacy statements and terms.

SECURITY

We would like you to be confident about ordering online, all transactions via this webshop are routed and stored via the secure PayPal payment system (it is not necessary for a purchaser to have a PayPal account to make payments via this system). Your browser will confirm that you are shopping in a secure environment by showing a locked padlock icon or an image of a key in the bar at the base of your screen.  Hic Haec Hoc usually uses Royal Mail or Parcel Force for deliveries, however, from time to time it may be necessary to use an alternative delivery / courier service. Rest assured that we only work with established and reputable delivery companies.
